The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Critical Care Advanced Respiratory Skills Day is a practical course offering participants knowledge and experience in a range of respiratory skills key to the management of critical illness.

An experienced and diverse faculty drawn from the fields of Critical Care, Respiratory Medicine and Surgery offer lectures and hands-on training in:

• Fibreoptic bronchoscopy (anatomy, care and manipulation of the bronchoscope, bronchoscopic intervention)
• Lung and pleural ultrasound (anatomy, knobology, practicalities of ultrasound and intervention)
• Advanced mechanical ventilation (waveform interpretation, advanced modes, trouble shooting)

The combination a high faculty to participants ratio and the use of high fidelity manequins offers participants extensive opportunity to develop their advanced respiratory critical care skills.
